Want people to click on the things you post? Use awesome photos. Photos can say a thousand words, and they’re easy for your community to share. It’s a great time to be a photographer. The tools are easy to use, and you don’t need much to make all your photos stand out.
VSCO Cam + iPhone/Android
This is one of the best apps I’ve found, and it’s something different than Instagram. I love Instagram, but the filters make photos look over-processed at times. Alternatively, the filters and controls in VSCO Cam look natural, and they give every photo a touch of mood that pulls you in. And the best part, it’s free!

Bokeh with Fast DSLR Lens
If you have an SLR or one of those new mirrorless bodies, you’ll have more flexibility and control over your photos. More importantly, you can create an effect called “bokeh.” Bokeh is that blurred effect you see in a photo. The shallow depth of field enables you to pull something into focus, and this is unique to big lenses. Use prime lenses like a 35mm F1.8 (for scenes) or a 50mm 1.8 (portraits). If you have deeper pockets, go for faster lenses like a F1.4 or F1.2.

Portable Tripod
A tripod does several things for you. First and foremost, it keeps your camera or phone steady, which creates a clearer photo. Second, it enables you to frame your photo and set up an interesting composition. You don’t have to spend a lot on a tripod*#8212;just get something lightweight and portable. If it won’t fit in your pocket or bag, you probably won’t use it. With a tripod, you can also shoot photos with longer exposures, like the milky way.

Bonus! Photo Brands That Use AddThis
So I had to mention that there are a couple of big brands that use AddThis on their site. That sums up the two things I love—photography and AddThis.
