I’m excited to welcome Daniel Harrison to the AddThis team. In his role as VP of National Sales, Daniel will be critical in our efforts to build our Audience Segments and Audience Discovery product lines through brand, agency, and trading desk relationships. We’re seeing tremendous success with this business, and will continue to make significant investments to grow our team.
Matt Calkins has been the CEO of Appian Corporation since founding the software company in 1999 at the age of 26. A history and board game aficionado, Matt won “Wargame of the Year” for a game he invented in 2011 called Sekigahara, and finished 3rd overall in the 2012 World Boardgaming Championships. He holds a B.A. with honors in Economics from Dartmouth College, and lives in Arlington, VA.

Hackathons are one of the most popular company-wide events at AddThis. From our start, these 24-hour events have been valued as a source of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
Last Thursday, we held our second hackathon of the year. Employees gathered at the AddThis HQ in Virginia for 24-hours of hacking fun. From conference room construction to manipulating web browsers with music, there were tons of impressive projects, many of which were completed by Friday morning. Here’s a look at some of the action!

At this week’s NoVA UX meetup we celebrated the group’s birthday and three years of user experience events. NoVA UX was founded back in June 2012 to provide opportunities for user experience professionals in the Northern Virginia and DC metro area to connect, share ideas and learn from each other.
